A Letter to Me and You
September 11th, 2008
memory laneAs I watch my career grow from my vantage point inside of it, it's crazy to me how the future adds a new perspective on things that seemed like a good idea at the time. I look back at my growing pains and my former fashion choices, and I am amazed that any of you ever decided to jump on this band wagon. I think back to the awkward photos of me, finding out who I was as an artist, and it's kind of like looking at an old high school yearbook (except most of these are readily available to anyone who ever learned to use google search). It's similar to being a TV sitcom kid that starts out kinda cute but goes through those awkward teenage years on primetime TV. If you're lucky, the show survives long enough to see you past this embarrassing period in life and on to maturity. It'd be terrible to be cancelled in the middle of this meta-morphasis.

God bless you, my fans, for seeing me through my artistic puberty. And a bunch of you were around then.

Of course, by writing this I am somehow implying that I've got it all together now by comparison. I have no doubt that in time I will also look back on 2008 and go, "What a moron."

I have enclosed a collage as a pictorial walk down embarrassing memory lane for your amusement.

Hang in there with me, I'm drinking milk.
